Special Education Professional Training Sessions
The Tennessee Arts Commission has provided funds for VSA arts Tennessee to be able to offer 3 professional development training sessions for special education teachers using the VSA arts International Start with the Arts training model. In this training, educators are exposed to potential lesson plans to incorporate the arts into their curriculum. Over 52 lesson plans are provided in a training book along with resource materials and ideas of special adaptations. The Department of Art and Design has a mission to prepare and produce students, who are equipped to function capably in their chosen area of the visual arts.  These areas include both graduate and undergraduate studies in studio arts, art education, and art history. They are fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
